Police were called to reports of the incident around 3.20pm this afternoon.
The London Ambulance Service also attended. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by 3.50pm.
A second male was found with stab injuries and has been taken to an east London hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Formal identification and a post-mortem is yet to take place.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
A Section 60 is in place for the whole of Newham borough.
