Woman sentenced for violent theft in Waltham Forest

A woman has been jailed for committing a violent robbery outside an ATM in Waltham Forest. 

Dwayer Jude, 28, was sentenced to two years and nine months imprisonment for robbery at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday. 

Jude punched and slapped a woman who was using a cash machine in Leytonstone Road at around 3.10pm on Wednesday, 28 November 2018. 

She then stole the cash the victim had just withdrawn. 

“This was a shocking attack in broad daylight,” said Detective Inspector, Steve Bluemore. 

“Although the victim was not seriously injured, the effects of becoming the victim of crime run far deeper than a loss of cash.

“I hope that the sentence handed down today brings a measure of comfort the victim.”
