Up to four vehicles, including two lorries, are believed to have been involved in the accident on the westbound carriageway at around 7am today.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.05am today to reports of a road traffic collision on the A13 near Ferry Lane.
“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We treated a man for head injuries and took him to hospital as a priority.”

Two lanes were closed but have since reopened.
There are still queues heading back to the M25.
