Lakeside is hoping to have a temporary fix in place by the end of the day
“We can confirm a main water pipe outside of the centre, located adjacent to the Quay & bus station, burst overnight which has caused some disruption to supply for a small number of our tenants,” said a spokesperson for the shopping centre.
“While some of those affected have remained open, others have closed temporarily until supply is restored. All other businesses are open and trading as normal.”
Vue cinema was among the businesses that were forced to temporarily close due to the issue. One shopper also said the café they were in did not have hot water.
“The Essex and Suffolk Water Board is on site and we hope to have a temporary fix in place to restore supply by the end of the day (Friday, 7 January),” added the spokesperson. “They will remain on site over the weekend and early next week to effect a permanent solution.
“Visitors are asked to please avoid multi story car park 10, adjacent to the Quay & bus station, until early next week and instead use surface car parks 3-6 or MSCP’s B,C,D.
“We apologise for any convenience caused.”
