Teenager charged after 17-year-old fatally stabbed in Hackney

A teenager’s been charged following a fatal stabbing in Hackney.

Nathan Bawuah, 17, died after being stabbed in Hackney Road, near the Cremer Street junction, just before 11pm on Saturday, 17 February.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested by detectives on Monday, 19 February.

The suspect appeared in custody at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 21 February charged with murder.

Nathan’s family has been informed and continue to receive support from specialist officers.

A post-mortem examination took place yesterday (Wednesday, 21 February) at Poplar Mortuary.

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.
