Barking person charged after death of baby boy in Harlow

Two people are due to appear in court today

A person from Barking has been charged in connection with the death of a baby boy. 

Police responded to reports a baby had taken ill at an address in Joyners Field, Harlow, shortly before 10am in August 2020.

The boy died at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics. 

Yesterday, officers charged Muritala Olaiya-Imam, 36, of Shearwater Close in Barking, with causing or allowing the death of a child and child neglect.

Ellodie Goncalves, 31, of Joyners Field, was also charged with murder and child neglect. 

They are both due to appear at Colchester Magistrates Court today.
