Officers received reports of a young man on Mungo Park Road, pointing a gun at passing cars at around 4pm on Saturday, 13 May.
Police examined CCTV footage and made local enquiries after they were made aware of the incident on Monday, 15 May.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested today (Wednesday, 17 May) and taken to an east London police station where police say he remains at this time.
No injuries have been reported and a gun hasn’t yet been recovered.
There are also no reports of any damage.
