Two pedestrians have been left seriously injured following a hit and run in Grays.

Emergency services were called to the collision involving a vehicle and two women in Dock Road, at the Marshfoot Road junction, shortly after 8.15pm on Wednesday, 8 November.

The vehicle involved left the scene and hasn’t yet been found.

The two women have been taken to hospital with serious injuries and continue to receive treatment.

Detective Sergeant Steve Holmes, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The two women involved in this collision were crossing the road, at the crossing between Dock Road and Marshfoot Road, shortly before 8.15pm on Wednesday 8 November.

“They were involved in a collision with what witnesses have described as a black saloon car, potentially a BMW.

“We are urgently looking to find this vehicle and are carrying out a number of enquiries to do so.

“Anyone with any information, or anyone who witnessed this incident, is asked to come forward.

“In particular, I would ask anyone in the area who has been asked to make repairs to a vehicle with visible front-end damage over the past 24 hours to consider this appeal, and whether the vehicle matches the description given by witnesses.”

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any CCTV footage from the area to contact police, quoting incident number 1095 of 8 November.

If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with Essex Police either by submitting a report online or by using their Live Chat service.

Alternatively, you can call them on 101.
