Body found in Harold Wood identified

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are continuing

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Harold Wood.

A man’s body was found in the Paines Brook Recreation Ground at around 8.05pm on Sunday, 28 January.

The body has now been identified.

Detective Sergeant Chris Whiston, of Havering CID, said: “We have made a number of enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death which continue.

“The deceased male has now been identified and enquiries are being made to locate his next of kin”

“I would like to thank local people for their patience while the scene was in place and our officers went about their inquiries.”

While the death is still under investigation, following a post-mortem examination police have no evidence of any third party involvement at this time.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner.
