Residents have two weeks to donate chocolate eggs
The initiative asks residents to buy an extra chocolate egg to donate to underprivileged children in Havering and the surrounding area.
Generous individuals can donate their chocolate eggs to Time FM’s studios in the Liberty Shopping Centre or they can take them to Clarkes Carpets & Flooring store in Roneo Corner.
Alternatively, the public can donate to a Go Fund me page which has been set up and Romford BID and Time FM will purchase the eggs instead.
Last year thousands of eggs were donated and an additional £900 raised in funds – so we are keen to make 2024’s collection even bigger and better!
Mark Dover at Time FM said: “Every year we ask our listeners to help with donations to our appeal for Easter eggs for underprivileged children so that they can have a happy Easter like other children do and that sometimes gets taken for granted.
“We’re around half way to where we need to be but there’s only two weeks to go so things are looking tight.
“Please donate whatever you can to help make it another successful campaign.”
Julie Frost Romford BID Director said: “We know how giving our community can be, so I really hope our visitors can donate as many Easter eggs as possible, so we can help make some children’s Easters a lot more chocolatey and memorable this year!”
Steve Gosling, Sales Director at Clarkes Carpets & Flooring said, “It means so much to us to once again sponsor the ‘Be a good egg Easter appeal’ alongside Time FM. Giving back to our community is very important to us and this campaign, which brings a smile to underprivileged children, could not be closer to our hearts. Please donate what you can, small gestures can create big smiles.”
The final day for donations is Monday, 18 March.
