Two people are in a critical condition following a collision in Walthamstow.

Two cars collided head on in Hoe Street on Sunday, 24 March at around 7.10pm, leaving four occupants of one car seriously injured – two of which remain in a critical condition in hospital.

The driver of the other car ran off from the scene and police say enquiries are continuing to locate them.

A woman, who was found in the suspect car, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She’s been interviewed and bailed while further enquiries take place.

The next of kin of all injured parties are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating.

They’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who captured the collision on dash cam, who were in the area around the time of the collision, or have any information regarding the driver of the vehicle.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the SCIU at Alperton Traffic Garage on 020 8246 9820 quoting CAD 5765/24MAR24.

You can also report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
