The crash happened at around 11.15pm last night on the eastbound carriageway between the Goresbrook junction and Marsh Way.
A large emergency services presence was called to deal with the collision.

The A13 eventually reopened at around 9.30am this morning.
The Met Police released the following statement: “Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a collision in Dagenham.
“Police were called to the A13 eastbound junction with Thames Avenue, Dagenham at 11.18pm on Saturday, 20 October.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a male motorcyclist with serious leg injuries following a collision with a car.
“The injured 27-year-old man was taken to an east London hospital for assessment and treatment of serious leg and arm injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
“His next-of-kin have been informed.
“The driver of the car stopped at the scene of the collision and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
“Officers wish to trace a second car which was reportedly near to the motorcycle at the time of the collision and is likely to have witnessed the collision.
“They are appealing for the driver of this car or any other witnesses to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8597 4874.”
