Special ceremony held in Romford hospital for newly qualified nurses

Kathryn Halford presented the special badges to the newly qualified nurses

A special graduation ceremony was held in Queens Hospital for newly qualified nurses and midwives.

Over 60 graduates attended to celebrate their achievements at the special badge ceremony on Tuesday, 1 October.

The event was held to mark completion of their training at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Among those attending were family, friends, their university tutors and members of the Trust Board.

Each nurse and midwife was presented with a uniform badge to illustrate where they trained and a certificate of achievement.

Kathryn Halford, Chief Nurse and deputy Chief Executive at the Trust was a nurse throughout the entirety of her career and was there to welcome them to the nursing profession.

She said: “As chief nurse at your training hospital, I’m hugely proud to present you with a badge that you’ll most likely wear proudly for the rest of your career.

“You’re all at the beginning of an exciting journey and I wish you all a happy and rewarding career.”
