Brookside Theatre must replace the windows before it reopens (Credit: Brookside Theatre)
The art venue is completely self-funded and has been struggling to access financial support during the pandemic.
It said the windows are in a state of disrepair and must be replaced if the venue is to reopen when coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
“The windows are in a terrible state of disrepair and urgently need replacing if the theatre is able to reopen its doors when safe to do so, following Covid-19 and government forced closure,” reads a statement on Brookside Theatre’s crowdfunding page.
“The original wooden frames are now dangerous, rotten and barely hold the glass.
“Not only would new windows greatly improve public safety but also the aesthetics, security and energy efficiency of these historic buildings.”
Residents can support the theatre on their crowdfunding page.
