The cyclist and a Mini collided in Blackmore Road at around 8.45am yesterday morning.
It’s believed the car and another vehicle, a white Vauxhall Insignia, overtook a van.
The Mini pulled in front of the van, where it then collided with the cyclist and failed to stop at the scene.
The cyclist, aged in his 50s, sustained a leg injury and was taken to hospital via air ambulance.
Police are appealing to speak to any witnesses of the incident.
