Abubakkar ‘Junior’ Jah was shot and stabbed in broad daylight in Coolfin Road at around 2.45pm on Monday, 26 April.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at scene.
The murderer drove a stolen black Land Rover Discovery which was found burnt out in Routemaster Close, in Plaistow just hours after.
False plates reading YH18 XLD were used at the time of murder, although the original registration plate started with BX18.

Detective Chief Inspector John Marriott, leading the investigation into Junior’s murder, said: “We are asking anyone who saw this vehicle in the Newham area between 21 April and 26 April to come forward and speak to us.
“We know that some time has now passed but would ask people to cast their minds back and think about whether they saw the Land Rover driving around the borough. Maybe you noticed it parked up outside your house or saw it being driven erratically.
“We believe those who brutally murdered Junior travelled to the location in this vehicle and then shot him from inside of it before stabbing him and driving away. It is crucial we hear from anyone who has any information.”

DCI Marriott added: “This murder happened in broad daylight and while our investigation is progressing well, we know there will be people out there who heard or saw what happened and have not yet come forward.
“If you don’t want to speak to us, please call Crimestoppers or Fearless. Any information you provide to these organisations will be completely anonymous.
“Silence will not help Junior’s family nor will it help us to protect others from this type of crime.
“We need people to share any piece of information, no matter how small, to help us get justice for Junior.”
Seven people have been arrested so far.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday, 2 May.
Five people, a 20-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on Tuesday, 18 May.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, 20 July.
They have all been released under investigation.
