Several windows were smashed in Havering Town Hall last night
Police were contacted at around 6am this morning (Monday, 29 April) to reports that several windows had been smashed in the building on Main Road.
Officers attended the scene and an investigation has been launched.
Boards have been placed across the damaged windows this afternoon.
The motive isn’t yet known.
Superintendent Simon Hutchison of East Area Neighbourhood Policing said: “We were called on Monday, 29 April to reports Havering Town Hall had been vandalised and damaged.
“At this stage no motive has been established but we are working with the council and following up investigative leads to identify who is responsible.
“Anyone who has any information that could help should call police on 101 quoting CAD 1004/29Apr.”
