Southend Road is expected to be closed for a few hours (Pic-Google Maps)
Officers were called this afternoon at around 14:30 to an address in Southend Road following reports of a gas explosion.
No one is believed to be injured and at this time there is not believed to be any structural damage to the property.
Several vehicles have been damaged.
Southend Road has been closed in both directions between Chadwell Road to St George’s Avenue by police.
It is expected to remain shut for a several hours.
