Ilford firefighters rescued Linus who was on his afternoon walk alongside his canine companion
The fire crew were called at 3.50pm on Friday, 25 October to Linus the dachshund, who was on his afternoon walk.
While off the lead, the canine had decided to climb a tall tree. His owner discovered he was then unable to make his way back down.
One fire engine attended the scene.
The fire crew used a short extension ladder to reunite Linus with his owner on the ground and the firefighters were finished by 5pm.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “We would always urge people to contact the RSPCA if they see an animal stuck or in distress.
“If the RSPCA require our assistance, they will call us and we are happy to assist with our specialist equipment.”
