Officers were called to the station at 12.12pm this afternoon following reports that someone had been hit by a train.
“‘Paramedics are also in attendance and sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene,” a spokesperson for the British Transport Police said.
“The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
There are severe disruptions across the entire the Central Line. Tickets are being accepted on buses and TfL Rail services.
Minor delays are also affecting trains heading between Stratford and Ilford.
