Pensioner injured in Leyton hit and run

An 81-year-old man is in a critical condition after a crash in Leyton.

The pensioner was hit by a car in Lea Bridge Road at around 10pm last night and he is currently being treated in hospital.

The car involved did not stop and an investigation is underway to trace the vehicle and the driver.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage.
