Man threatened with firearm in Brentwood

A man has been threatened with a firearm during an attempted robbery in Brentwood.

The victim was approached by two men in Ongar Road at around 10.15pm on Wednesday evening.

The pair tried to steal his wallet but he refused ended up fleeing empty-handed.

Police believe the suspects made off down Hurstwood Avenue.

Both men had their faces partially covered, but the first is described as being in his late teens, white, around 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a white scarf covering his face and a grey hooded top with the hood up.

The second man is described as being in his late teens or early 20s, black, between 5ft 9ins and 6ft tall, wearing a black scarf covering the bottom of his face, and a black puffer coat with the hood up.

Essex Police has asked anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to contact them, on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/153697/19, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
