Five young brothers from Harold Park have raised more than £2000 for Black Lives Matter by running a marathon in a local sport ground.

George Handley 16, and his four younger brothers, Keane, Ryan, Charlton, and Robson, each ran part of the distance at Hendersons Sports Club on Sunday afternoon.

It took them just under four hours to finish the 26.2 miles, with the brothers coming together to complete the last kilometre of the challenge.

With a target of raising £500, the boys’ donation page currently shows they have collected more than four times the amount they set out to.

Their father, Paul Handley, said: “We’re very proud of our boys for taking positive action and standing up for such an important cause while also raising a fantastic amount of money for charity. We would also like to thank everyone who has supported the boys through donations and messages of encouragement.”
