A man’s been arrested after an assault in Canning Town
Officers were called to a fight involving two men on Barking Road at around 10pm on Tuesday, 16 January.
One man, aged 48, suffered a facial injury and continues to receive treatment following damage to his eye.
A 27-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault – he has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-April.
Detective Constable Charlotte Saward leads the investigation and said: “It appears this was a dispute that stemmed from a parking incident and escalated into violence. We know there were several people who were in Barking Road and witnessed this incident – if you’ve not yet come forward to speak to us then please do so immediately.”
