A 17-year-old is fighting for his life after a serious collision in Warley.

The pedestrian was hit when two cars crashed in Hartswood Road on Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm.

Two men from inside one of the vehicles, a black Ford Kuga, were taken to hospital where one of them remains with serious injuries.

They have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The second has been discharged from hospital and remains in custody for questioning.

The driver of the second vehicle, a Mercedes, suffered minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: “We’d like to hear from witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, and anyone who has dash cam footage, particularly of the Ford Kuga.

Contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting incident 648 of 19 September, or email CollisionAppeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.”
