The concept allows the player to play out a footballer’s career
Rising Star Football Edition was designed by friends, Charlie Wright, Mike Hurst, and James Bergman, who each had little work opportunities.
The concept allows the player to play out a footballers career on and off the pitch.
Although initially created just for entertainment, the trio gave the game to others to test and received positive feedback.
One tester said: “It’s like FIFA Be A Pro meets The Game of Life.”
They then decided to develop it into a business.
A Kickstarter fundraising page launched yesterday in order to get the game to market.
This campaign will allow anyone to get a copy of the game itself, as well as access some limited edition rewards.
Co-creator, Charlie Wright said: “During lockdown, like a lot of people, we had little to no work opportunities and a lot of free time.
“We’re all sports fans and with the lack of sport on TV, we found ourselves being quite bored so we decided to do something a bit different and try to create our own sporting entertainment.
“We fell on the idea of playing out a footballer’s career as your own and incorporated all the things a footballer would encounter in their day-to-day life, playing matches, getting transferred, signing contracts, dealing with your agent, and much more.
“The rules are the most important bit and getting the rules right to make it fair, competitive but fun was a difficult challenge. We owe a great deal to friends and family who took the time to volunteer.”
Head to the official website for more information on the game.
