Police closed the road in both directions near to the Movers Lane junction, at around 4.15pm today after the man threatened to harm himself while on the bridge.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “The man fell from height and was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
The road was closed in both directions for around 90 minutes.
