Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Chadwell Heath

Tributes have been paid to amateur boxer Tyler Hurley on social media

An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Chadwell Heath. 

Tyler Hurley, 16, was reportedly stabbed while on board a Route 173 bus in High Road shortly before 4pm on Monday, 14 March.

He was rushed to hospital where he died the following morning. 

Carlton Tanueh, 18, of no fixed address, has been charged with his murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon. 

He was due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today. 

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is investigating the incident and has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
