Runaway pig in Rainham rescued by police using loaf of bread

Havering Police had an unexpected start to Bank Holiday Monday after being called to help rescue a runaway pig in Rainham.

Officers received reports on Monday, 1 May that the animal had escaped from her owner and was roaming on Brittons Playing field and Rainham Road, near Ford Lane around 8am.

The team attended and say she was enticed home with a loaf of bread.

The lady pig is now believed to be back safe and sound.

Havering MPS tweeted: “Morning all, a light hearted start to the BH as C Team were called to reports of a pig roaming in the road in Rainham!

“This lady had escaped from her local owner but was enticed home with a loaf of bread & is safe & sound.”
