Man, 19, left with life-threatening injuries following Aveley collision

Two people have been arrested following a collision in Aveley which left a man fighting for his life.

A black BMW X1 and an e-scooter collided in Ship Lane at around 8am yesterday (Tuesday, 30 May).

The rider of the e-scooter, a 19 year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A 22 year-old man from Aveley and a 28 year-old woman from Grays were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The pair have both since been released under investigation.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, to come forward – quoting incident 184 of 30 May.
