A 55-year-old man was arrested last night
Footage showed a man hurling abuse at the group as they were walking along South Street on Saturday, 20 April.
A 55-year-old was taken into custody last night (Sunday, 21 April) on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences.
Havering Police posted the update on X yesterday.
This evening, we arrested a 55-year-old man on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences.
This follows distressing footage shared earlier of a group of women being racially abused in South Street, Romford yesterday.
The man has been taken into custody.
