A project in Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering providing social activities for senior people is asking residents to vote for it as a People’s Project so it can receive funding.
Ageless Teenagers celebrates age by inspiring both young and old to get together through social activities.
Starting in 2017 as a Caribbean Tea Party for the Windrush Generation it has now has around 300 members who come and let their hair down.
They are now asking residents to vote for them as a People’s Project so they can receive up to £50,000 in funding.
Weininger Irwin runs and says “our strap line is, using our past to build the future. Ageless Teenagers have so much experience and so many skills but sometimes they’re like the forgotten generation and we don’t want that.”
“Irrespective, no matter what, if you see a senior, they’ve been a teenager at some time in their life, but just because they’ve climbed the ladder of age nothing has really changed, that energy is still there that vibrancy is still there.”
