A teenager has been jailed after being found with a knife at Barking station.
Alexandru Aldea, of Crescent Road in Dagenham, was acting suspiciously when he saw police at the station earlier this month.
The 18-year-old was searched and found to have a large serrated knife.
He was violent towards officers, kicking one, before injuring the hand of another.
Aldea was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, two counts of assaulting a constable and theft of a driving licence.
He pleaded guilty earlier this month and was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.
Sgt Kamal Khan said: “I am pleased this man was brought in front of the courts, where justice was delivered swiftly, and he is now off the streets.
“I hope this serves as a deterrent and a warning to others – carrying a knife will result in a prison sentence.”
