The blaze broke out at Trinity Buoy Wharf on Saturday, 2 October, shortly before 12.45pm, destroying the engine room.
No one was injured during the incident.
Fire crews from from Poplar, Plaistow, Shadwell and surrounding fire stations managed to get the fire under control by 2.37pm.
The fire boat from Lambeth River and partners from the RNLI and HM Coastguard also attended to the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
