This crossbow was among the weapons found in the boot of the car.

A 57-year-old man from Hutton has been charged after police found a haul of weapons, including a crossbow and an imitation gun, in a car near Romford Market.

Officers spotted a vehicle in Market Link at around 6.20pm on Thursday, 6 June and approached it, asking the driver to get out of the car.

As well as the crossbow and gun, there was a knife and an “adapted snooker cue.”

This knife was found in the boot of the suspect car.

John Sidoli, of Whittington Road, was charged with three counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and one count of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.

He appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody for a hearing on Wednesday, 12 June.
