They were found during a raid nearly two weeks ago
A raid was carried out on an industrial estate in Chadwell St Mary on Thursday, 9 July, after Essex Police received intelligence
Police are trying to identify people linked to the address. They have also thanked local residents and businesses for their support.
District Commander for Thurrock, Chief Inspector Richard Melton, said: “I understand that this discovery is a real concern for anyone who lives or works in Chadwell.
“Thankfully, the firearms are now in our possession and we have made them safe. Detectives from our Serious and Organised Crime Unit are working tirelessly to trace the people who are linked to these weapons.
“We know that large-scale cannabis grows are often linked to organised crime, and a grow can bring intimidation, violence and exploitation along with it.
“I’d like to thank all the members of the public who report suspicious behaviour to us every day as, without your information, these weapons could still be on the streets.”
