Emergency services were called to Cranbrook Road, following reports of a crash involving a lorry and two pedestrians.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were called at 2.36pm today.
They added: “Sadly, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was treated at the scene and has been taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
The Met Police has said the man is in a life-threatening condition.
Their spokesperson told Time 107.5FM: “The lorry driver stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries. Road closures are in place around the scene.”
