Police recovered the silver Ford S-Max, 17 minutes after it was reported stolen from an address in Burns Crescent, Chelmsford last Tuesday at 2.25am.
The vehicle was traced to Harold Wood, near Gallows Corner.
Mohammed Islam, of Pembury Road, Hackney has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.
He’s due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 25 May.
The vehicle has been returned, undamaged, to the owner.
