Boxer Luke Campbell will cut the ribbon at the opening in Rom Valley Retail Park at around 8am on Thursday, 17 November.
He will also be giving away bags of fresh fruit and vegetables to the first 30 customers in the queue.
Aldi have been providing Team GB with healthy food since 2015 through monthly vouchers.
“I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB,” said Luke.
The shop will be run by store manager Ana Maniakina, along with a team of 36 colleagues from the local community. They have recruited 22 new members of staff in preparation for the launch.
“As part of Aldi’s investment in local communities across the UK, the new store will offer more customers access to Aldi’s high quality, low-price products,” said an Aldi spokesperson.
“In fact, consumer group Which? recently confirmed Aldi as the UK’s cheapest grocer on a basket of 48 everyday items with a price difference of £12.63 against Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s, making them on average 17% more expensive.”
Local charities and food banks in the area are also being urged to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations.
Those that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products from the store seven days a week.
Any charities that would like to partner up with the new shop should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The store will be open from 8am until 10pm from Monday to Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
