The Saint Francis Hospice Santathon is taking place today – exactly three months after Christmas!
The original event was scheduled for December but had to be called off after it snowed and the icy conditions were too dangerous.
You will now see a number of people dressed as Santa Claus running through the Dagenham area today instead.
The event kicks off this morning at Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club and will be started by Sir Trevor Brooking, who was recently made a patron of the Hospice.
He said: “The support and help families get here is massive and something we want to try and encourage.
“If you live in the locality there are very few people who don’t know somebody who has been touched by work the Hospice does, so the important thing is to try and spread that word.”
