Two arrested for criminal damage in Grays

Two people have been charged after police responded to reports of criminal damage in Grays.

Thurrock Council reported damage to bollards in Thames Road yesterday afternoon.  Attending police found an unauthorised traveller encampment and officers were reportedly pushed and kicked while making their enquiries.

A 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with assaulting a police officer and is due to appear at Basildon Youth Court on Tuesday, May 29.

The site was vacated later that day.
